Digital offers unprecedented opportunities for Beverage Wholesale Distributors in the CHR sector. Some have understood this and started a slight or more profound change. But these initiatives are still very marginal. The delay in the digital transformation of the sector is mainly due to cultural obstacles. According to an OpinionWay study carried out in May 2020, 84% of French people plan to frequent cafes, bars and restaurants this summer. On leaving confinement, the latter confirm their desire to return to their good old habits and bring back the art of French living within the terraces of cafés and restaurants.

If they want to live up to the challenges of their customers, adapt to new purchasing paths, CHR bosses must speed up the implementation of digital strategies, at the risk of being left behind by this revolution boosted by the health crisis.
